The Friends winter study tour to Florence, between 1st and 6th December, has proved very popular and is now fully booked!
As previously advised, the main attraction during the tour will be "Angelico", a breathtaking exhibition of the work of the early Italian Renaissance painter, Fra Angelico, at the Palazzo Strozzi. This is a true ‘blockbuster’ exhibition!
The Friends tour will also include a walk through the newly restored Vasari Corridor, the renowned elevated enclosed passageway, nearly half a mile long, which enabled the Medici’s dukes and their entourages to commute without mixing with the rest of the populace. There will also be many other things to see during our visit to this wonderful city.
Once again, our tour will be led by the excellent Nirvana Romell, who has just been awarded an Honorary Life Membership of the Friends to recognise her invaluable contribution to our study tours over the years.
