Ventis Vocal Ensemble:
Niamh O’Connor - soprano, Eve Codman - soprano, Clementine Thompson - soprano, Nia Edwards - mezzo, Midia Kalou - mezzo, Eibhlin Eddy - mezzo
Ventis Vocal Ensemble, inspired by the winds that connect the world and carry music across geographical borders, is an upper voice sextet established in 2023. The group is formed of vocalists from the Royal Northern College of Music who are all soloists in their own right. Together, they have merged their voices in an angelic blend of tones to transport audiences from country to country, sampling a multitude of cultural sound worlds.
In their aim to enrich the musical experiences of audiences and themselves, Ventis deposits Western trained Classical voices into music that traverses past the boundaries of Western Classical music. Their collective voices will take audiences on an eye-opening and magical journey, with the aspiration of sharing traditional folk music and the works of modern-day folk artists and composers from their own cultural backgrounds and the rest of the world.
