Established in 2020 and based in Manchester, Cosmic Brass continues to be a new and exciting quintet comprised of musicians from the RNCM. Incorporating a vast variety of genres, Cosmic pride themselves on performing an eclectic array of repertoire. Recently this has included film music, jazz, contemporary music, and staples of the repertoire for brass quintet. Alongside this impressive stylistic range, Cosmic enjoy displaying their originality by performing works of their own arrangement. 

 A recent highlight has been receiving an invitation to perform in the Philip Jones Ensemble Prize, one of the RNCM’s most prestigious competitions. Performing alongside some of RNCM’s finest brass ensembles, the competition established Cosmic’s position as a leading chamber group at the RNCM. 

Members of the ensemble also enjoy collaborating outside of Cosmic, recently performing together in the RNCM Symphony Orchestra. As a burgeoning ensemble, Cosmic Brass looks forward to expanding their repertoire and sharing their innovative take on the brass quintet.
