Freeman String Quartet: Xander Croft, Katherine Stonham
Chance Freeman and Felix Hughes
The Freeman String Quartet is a dynamic young ensemble of second year undergraduate students studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. Following their formation in September 2017, the ensemble’s first major success was winning the RNCM Nossek Prize for chamber music, for their performance of Mendelssohn’s String Quartet Op 12. Since then, they have been performing frequently in prestigious venues such as the RNCM Chamber Music Festival, Cheltenham Racecourse, St Ann’s Church, Manchester and the Malvern Festival. The quartet also attended the South Downs Summer Music International Festival as the young quartet in residence.
