PiXie Duo: Phoebe Kam flute and Yanan Xu harp
PiXie is a Flute and Harp Duo formed in 2017. Phoebe and Yanan are studying their second year of their Master Degree at the RNCM. Combining the two beautiful and lyrical instruments with passion, they are looking forward to playing all different musical periods and genres.
Phoebe Kam was raised in Hong Kong by a musical family. She started her music education at the age of 5, and began her flute training at the age of 8. Phoebe was the Principal Flute of the Hong Kong Baptist University Symphonic Orchestra (2014-2015), as well as piccolo (2013-2014), and also in the HKBU Wind Symphony (2011-2013).
After graduating from Hong Kong Baptist University with an Associate Degree of Art (music) with Merit, Phoebe pursued her music study in HKBU completing her Bachelor degree (2015). Phoebe is currently studying a Master of Music at the Royal Northern College of Music supported by the Helen Mackaness Charitable Trust.
Yanan Xu, was born and raised in Sichuan province of China. She learned piano at the age of 8 and studied piano at middle school of the Sichuan Conservatory of music in 2007. In 2013, she started her undergraduate course. Meanwhile, Yanan was beginning to study harp and this brought her to Europe,
In 2017, she got an offer from the Royal Northern College of Music where her studies are generously supported by the Helen Rachael Mackaness Charitable Trust.
