Zamorra Guitar Trio:
Don Candy - Australian born classical guitarist Don Candy graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in classical guitar performance. Over the years, Don has had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses for distinguished artists and has also played in a variety of classical guitar ensembles and chamber groups around Perth. In 2013, Don was a finalist in the Thailand International Guitar Competition and in the following year he won a range of Australian-based competitions and eisteddfods. Don is studying for a Masters degree in guitar performance at the Royal Northern College of Music .
Sam Rodwell - is currently in the first year of Postgraduate study at the RNCM. In his very first term he won the string department’s Salon Prize, making him the first guitarist to win this competition for nearly 30 years. Whilst undertaking many performances internally and externally for the RNCM, he began working for Yamaha promoting their classical guitars through performances and videos on Amazon. Prior to commencing his studies at the RNCM, Sam worked extensively with Mark Ashford as part of Guitar Circus in Birmingham, taking part in performances at the World Youth Guitar Festival in Winchester and at the Winchester Guitar Festival.
Owen Bunting - Owen started playing classical guitar at eight years of age. At thirteen, he won a scholarship to continue his studies at The Purcell School for Young Musicians’. In 2011, Owen was the soloist in the UK premiere of Gabriel Jackson’s Ave Regina Caelorum for electric guitar and choir at the Chapel Royal, Hampton Park. In the same year he performed at an Investiture Ceremony in the presence of Prince Charles. For further music education Owen was awarded a scholarship to study with David Tanenbaum and Sergio Assad at the San Francisco of Conservatory of Music. The following year Owen returned to the UK to continue his studies at the Royal Northern of College of Music. Owen is mainly interested in contemporary classical music and furthering the repertoire of the classical guitar.
