Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
At our recent AGM, we said a very fond farewell to two of our very hardworking trustees.
Christine Pidcock (above), has been our membership secretary for more years than she cares to remember. Her’s has been the quiet - but determined- voice behind our membership subscriptions and renewals. In fact, without her there would be no organisation at all. Over the years she has come to know many of our members well, handling enquiries, helping with lost membership cards, forgotten membership numbers and much else. It’s a job that takes place largely behind the scenes - but we really couldn’t have done without her, and neither could our members. We wish her all the very best as she hands over to our new membership secretary, Sonya Crawford, who, ably trained by Christine, now picks up this important role.
And then there is Joan Gem (above). Known to many, Joan has run our programme of events both at the Whitworth Gallery and elsewhere. If you have been on one of the Whitworth’s many UK Tours, attended our annual Pilkington lecture, enjoyed a curator tour of a Whitworth exhibition, it’s likely you will know Joan and - since Joan takes good care to make sure that everyone is taken care of, it is likely that Joan will know you. For now Joan will continue to run our UK trips, but the wider role passes to our new Programme Manager, Jennie Banfield. Thank you Joan!
