Introducing Rita Allman
As we make our way through the Covid19 Pandemic, we thought it might be a good opportunity to introduce you to some of our Friends. Rather than presenting them with a blank sheet of paper, we decided to ask them some questions. We think they enjoyed answering them. We hope you enjoyed reading their answers. Today we are introduing Rita Allman. Rita is pictured here through the window of her house during lockdown. The photo was taken by her friend, Anne Mackinnon, the Friends of the Whitworth secretary. It encapsulates the way we are all trying our best to stay in touch with each other. Read what Rita has to say about her life and how she answered our questions.
I grew up in Hertfordshire and at 18 went to Didsbury College of Education in Manchester. Since then teaching has been an important part of my life. My family and friends are precious to me and situated in different parts of the country and the World so, fortunately, I enjoy travelling to visit them. Since retiring, art has become more important to me and I have converted my loft into a studio where I now enjoy exploring my creativity.
