AGM-Cancelled
We are so sorry that, due to the situation with regard to Covid19, we have to cancel our AGM, scheduled to take place on 19th March. There will be no events at the Whitworth Art Gallery until further notice, although, for now, the Gallery remains open and we hope you will continue to visit. Check the Gallery website for further information.
Our AGM was due to celebrate the relationship between the Gallery and Whitworth Park and we were looking forward to hearing from Patrick Osborn, the Landscape and Sustainability Technician, who with his team of staff and volunteers looks after the Park’s infrastructure, and Francine Hayford, Cultural Park Keeper, who manages the extensive-and growing-programme of activities. Alistair Cox, Chair of our sister organisation, Friends of Whitworth Park was joining us to describe what the Park Friends are doing to involve the community in the care and life of the Park.
Later in the evening, our hardworking and innovative Student Friends were going to help us take a look at how Art History is taught-and how it might be taught differently in Art History: B S(l)ides.
We hope to reschedule these, or a similar events, in the future. For now, we are leaving you with some of the paintings of the Whiwtworth Park by Friend of the Whitworth, Anne Mackinnon. Enjoy them in the Picture Gallery below, and please stay safe. We will be updating our website and posting on our twitter feed and our Instagram page. You don't need your own accounts as you can see what we are up to by clicking on the links to these at the bottom of our website page.
