Friends' Day out in Kendal and Lancaster

 
   A convivial lunch at Kendal’s Old Brewery & Lancaster University’s vast campus followed, almost continental in the bright sunshine. We were made very welcome by staff at the Peter Scott Gallery & learnt about its wide range of fascinating ceramics.
 
   The architecturally unique Ruskin Library was breathtaking in its apparent simplicity, but revealed an exquisite range of work to browse through, whilst some of us tried to avoid looking down at the vertiginous drop beneath the partly glass floor!
