Gunda Baranauskaite is a Lithuanian cellist who performs as a soloist, chamber musician and is a prize winner of national and international competitions. Her repertoire is filled with a variety of styles from baroque to classical and jazz to pop. Alongside her formal studies, Gunda took part in projects as a soloist and orchestral musician in Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, France, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and the United States.
As a scholar supported by The Haworth Trust, Gunda is continuing to develop her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music and remains principal cello for one of the Lithuania’s leading contemporary music ensembles, Synaesthesis.
Yuuki Bouterey-Ishido was born in Christchurch in 1993, he began to study cello at the age of six and in 2006, he joined the Pettman Junior Academy at Canterbury University, New Zealand until 2008 when he moved to London to study at the Purcell School of Music. He is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Awards include being a recipient of the British Music and Dance Scholarship for study at the Purcell School of Music from 2008 – 2012, second prize at the National Concerto Competition in 2008, winner of the James Wallace Arts Trust Prize in 2008 and also the Arthur Hilton memorial Prize in the same year.
