I very much enjoyed the recent FoW trip to Cornwall which was notable for the variety of sights we saw. En route to Falmouth, we toured Exeter Cathedral and 2 contrasting National Trust houses, Dyrham Park and Cotehele. In sunny weather, we visited the Eden Project and had an instructive tour of the tropical biodome, followed by a walk in Trebah garden near Falmouth which led to a small, delightful, and typically Cornish beach. We visited art galleries including Penlee gallery in Penzance and Tate St Ives, where the works of Bridget Riley were currently highlighted. Highlights for me were the visit to Barbara Hepworth's studio and sculpture garden and the artist, Michael Porter's studio in Newlyn. The visit to the Bernard Leach pottery in St Ives was also much appreciated. Joan is to be congratulated on organising such an enjoyable trip. The party was sorry to say goodbye to Jane Brand of Art and Heritage Holidays who is retiring, having led many successful FoW trips
